'Very, very nice gesture' if PAS not contesting the Rompin by-election

“So, if PAS doesn’t contest in Rompin, out of respect for Tan Sri JJ who is also a senior party member; I think that could be very, very nice gesture,” says Dato’ Sri DiRaja Adnan.

BEING 'CROSS-EXAMINED' BY THE MEDIA?... Dato' Sri DiRaja Adnan seen here attending and answering to queries by our local media-people including those about the upcoming Rompin parliamentary by-election.

SWISS-GARDEN RESORT RESIDENCES, SUNGAI KARANG, KUANTAN – PAS will be doing ‘very, very nice gesture’ if it does not field it’s candidate to contest in the coming, May 5th Rompin parliamentary by-election, said Dato’ Sri DiRaja Adnan Yaakob.

The Pahang Menteri Besar who is also Chairmen of both the Pahang State UMNO Liaison Committee and Pahang State Barisan Nasional (BN), was quoted as saying at a media conference, here this evening ;

“Out of respect for (Allahyarham) Dato’ Nik Aziz (Nik Mat), we didn’t contest (in the) DUN Chempaka (by-election, on March 22).

“So, if PAS doesn’t contest in Rompin, out of respect for Tan Sri JJ who is also a senior party member; I think that could be very, very nice gesture”.

‘Tan Sri JJ’ refers to the late Tan Sri Jamaluddin Jarjis who was the Member of Parliament for Rompin, until he was killed along with five others in a helicopter mishap near Semenyih, Selangor on April 4.

FIGHT TOOTH AND NAIL

Dato’ Sri Adnan added that, by PAS not contesting, both parties – UMNO and PAS, will get to save their time, money and energy; what more that this by-election is just about one parliamentary seat.

“(It’s better to) wait for the next General Election… then we fight. We’ll fight tooth (and nail),” he said, then did not discount the possibility of – despite without PAS; independent candidates will still offer themselves to contest in the by-election .

Dato’ Sri DiRaja Adnan turut diminta mengulas kenyataan pemangku Ketua UMNO Bahagian Rompin, Dato’ Hasan Ariffin semalam, Ahad, 12 April, tentang keputusan Bahagian untuk menolak calon yang bukan dalam kalangan Jawatankuasa Bahagian itu.

“Dak, dak. Kena baca lagi (kenyataan Dato’ Hasan itu). Dia (kata) kalau calon dari luar, pihak kepimpinan parti kena beri alasanlah.

“Saya percaya kenyataan Dato’ Hasan itu kenyataan yang baik dan saksama. Dia tidak memaksa pucuk pimpinan parti tapi dia menyatakan pendirian Bahagian.

ALU-ALUKAN PANDANGAN JAWATANKUASA BAHAGIAN ROMPIN
